Sailing
Travel through the beautiful, ocean wilderness on an All-American Skipjack boat, The Dangerous Prize. This is the same sailing vessel, which was used to comb oyster beds up North, in the 19th Century. During this time, The Dangerous Prize was used primarily in and around the Chesapeake Bay. This boat was also used as a fishing boat when it would visit the Florida Keys.
The design of a skipjack boat is shallow and has a large sail. Skipjacks are perfect for the environment involved in back country sailing. The Florida Keys have never looked as magnificent as they will from under a cascading sail. While skipjacks are shallow, you will be protected from the water that surrounds you, no matter the weather. You will be viewing one of the most breathtaking areas imaginable as you travel in this luxury boat on your journey.
Snorkeling
On your back country safari trip, you will visit the absolute best snorkeling locations in the area. In an effort to provide you with the best tour possible, we have found a variety of excellent snorkeling locations. These areas, only known by locals, are often inaccessible to other people and tours. This means that you will not have to worry about clogged snorkeling sites with an overabundance of people. In short, you will be able to explore the majestic waters without the interruption of others.
The exact location of the snorkeling site that you will be visiting on your tour will depend on a number of factors. The tide and wind conditions will be looked at to make sure that each tour is free from rough waters and that the conditions are suitable for your snorkeling expedition. Additionally, the calm waters will cut down on seasickness for those who are affected.
Wet suits are offered to guests on the tour as the weather and water become cooler. Prescription quality masks are also offered during the colder months. Kayaking
Our kayaking expedition will lead you to the picturesque Mangrove Islands. A knowledgeable and friendly guide will be with you the entire tour. The guide will be there to help you explore the islands and answer any questions you may have if you need additional guidance. Mangrove Island offers a vastly sensitive ecosystem that includes sharks, sporting fish, tropical birds, exotic fish, and many different species of plants and animals.
If you have never been kayaking before, it will not be a problem on this tour! Top of the line sea kayaks are provided for use. These kayaks are incredibly stable and will prove to be suitable to any person, no matter their age. Your guide will be available to provide a helping hand to anyone on the tour.
